Y’all been asking for my Homemade Marinara Sauce so I thought I’d share it with you today. This is my go to, quick and easy Homemade Marinara Sauce. You can through this together on the stove or even in a slow cooker to simmer all day. Let me know what you think about this version and y’all enjoy.

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion diced small
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 3-4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 quart or 3 cans crushed or diced tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup red wine.
  1. Add the olive oil to a large sauce pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes
  3. Add spices and cook an additional 2-3 minutes to bloom the oils
  4. Now add the garlic and the tomato paste.
  5. Cook for 2-3 minutes to caramelize the tomato paste.  Don’t burn the garlic.
  6. Add in the tomatoes and the red wine.  Stir to combine.
  7. Cover and simmer over a low heat for 2-3 hours.
  8. Taste and add salt and pepper as needed.
  9. You can use an immersion/stick blender if you want your sauce more smooth.
