Condensed Milk Sugar Cookies

I thought I’d try a new recipe this year.  I grew up with moms Christmas Sugar Cookies and wanted that but with a bit of a twist.  I did put sugar in the cookies, that I don’t think i will do next time. This made them spread out more than I would have liked. Let me know what you think about her version and y’all enjoy.

  • 2 sticks softened butter
  • 1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar (leave out for a more thick cookie and less soft)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 ounces cream cheese 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar Christmas Sprinkles
  • Preheat oven to 325°F

1. mix together in small bowl the flour, baking powder and salt
2. in separate bowl combine the butter, 1 cup of the sweetened condensed milk, sugar and vanilla.
3. Mix this well and then start adding in about 1/3 of the flour mixture at a time and bring together
4. After all flour is incorporated into the butter mixture, refrigerate for about an hour.
5. Scoop the cookie batter out on prepared baking sheets.
6. Bake for 12-15 minutes
7. While baking mix the cream cheese, remaining sweetened condensed milk and vanilla together.
8. Add the powdered sugar a bit at a time to thicken to the consistency you like. (temp and humidity will effect)
9. Let cookies cool completely before putting on the frosting/glaze.
10. Frost cookies and add sprinkles.
11. Enjoy.
