Sausage Balls

It seems like every party I went to over the holidays, they served sausage balls. My sister made some that were amazing and a bit spicy. These aren’t that spicy but you can turn up the heat with a bit of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes if you like. Let me know what you think about this version and y’all enjoy.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 1/4 cup AP flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • pinch of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon toasted fennel seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  1. Put all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix well.
  2. You may have to add 2-3 tablespoons water if to dry.
  3. Scoop out on cookie sheet in walnut sized portions.
  4. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 2-25 minutes…Bake to at least 145°F internal temp.
  5. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
