Apple Blondies

Let’s celebrate apple season with amazing apple blondies. They are such an wonderful fall treat that is a cross between a cake and a brownie.  All I know is if you plop a dip of ice cream and some caramel sauce on top, you will feel like you’ve died and gone to heaven.  They are just that good.

  • 3 cups diced apples (I used red delicious)
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

  1. Place your diced apples in water with a bit of lemon juice or citric acid so they do not turn brown.
  2. Cream together the sugars and butter till smooth.
  3. Add in the vanilla and eggs.
  4. Now add the salt, cinnamon and baking powder
  5. Mix in the flour till well incorporated
  6. Add in the apples after draining and the nuts, stir to combine.
  7. Now put in a prepared 9×13 baking dish.  Batter will be thick.  Spread out evenly.
  8. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar if you wish before baking.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 40-50 minutes.
  10. Let cool for 15-20 minutes before cutting.
