Lime Jello Salad

Y’all this is one recipe that has become a tradition with our family. I of course as you’ll hear mom say, always called it Green Moldy Salad. So this is literally a name that has stuck in our home. We always had this throughout the holidays and a few times during the year for special occasions as well. It is a throwback to the 70’s and all the jello salads that were so popular. Let me know what you think about her version and y’all enjoy.

Ingredients:

1 large package Lime Jello
1 1/2 cups water
2 1/2 cups crushed ice
2 cups mini marshmallows
1 small tub cool whip®
1 8 ounce package cream cheese at room temperature
1 cup crushed pecans
1 can of crushed pineapple drained.

Make jello according to instructions on box.
Once the jello is heated through, dump in the marshmallows and mix till dissolved.
Remove from heat and add in the cream cheese and stir till dissolved.
Add in the cool whip and pecans. Mix well to combine.
Add in the 2 1/2 cups crushed ice and the pineapple
Transfer into a large glass serving bowl and cover with plastic wrap.
Put in refrigerator until it is set up.
