Tim McGraw Spaghetti Casserole

1 12-ounce package spaghetti 1 tablespoon sugar 3 cups cheddar cheese, grated 1 pound hamburger meat 1 2 1/4- ounce can mushrooms 1 can tomato soup 1/2 cup milk 1 15-ounce jar spaghetti sauce Chopped onions, to taste
Cook spaghetti. Drain and set aside. Brown hamburger meat with chopped onions.
Put half of cooked spaghetti in bottom of buttered 2 1/2- or three- quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with half the sugar. Sprinkle half the cheese on top, then half the hamburger, then half the mushrooms.
Mix together soup, milk and spaghetti sauce. Pour a thin layer over the casserole. Repeat the layers of spaghetti, sugar, cheese, meat and mushrooms. Pour the rest of the soup mixture over the top. Bake for one hour in a preheated 350-degree oven.
