Y’all, this is one of the easiest yet tastiest mashed potato recipes I have. I promise that the bowl will be empty by the end of your meal.
4 lbs potatoes peeled (peels on for extra nutrients/rustic)
1 stick of butter ( room temperature)
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup milk (heated)
1 tsp garlic powder (or more if you like)
salt and pepper to taste.
Boil potatoes in a large pot until fork tender. Pour out into colander. Transfer hot potatoes into a large mixing bowl. Add butter, sour cream, milk and seasonings to potatoes and mash with a potato masher or ricer. Add a tablespoon of milk at a time to reach desired consistency. Serve immediately.
