This is a great Mushroom spread that is a creamy holiday dip recipe, made with earthy mushrooms, bacon, cream cheese, and spices. You are going to love this one folks.
Ingredients:
- 4 slices bacon
- 8 ounces fresh mushrooms, chopped
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2-3 dashes Tabasco Sauce
- 1 – 8ounce package cream cheese, cut into cubes
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 cup sour cream.
- Cook bacon until crisp. Drain well, reserving 2 tablespoons of bacon fat.
- cool bacon and crumble into small pieces.
- On medium heat, cook until tender the mushrooms, onions and garlic in the bacon fat.
- Stir in flour and salt. Add cream cheese, Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire and soy sauce.
- Heat and stir until cheese is melted.
- Stir in sour cream and crumbled bacon. Heat thoroughly (do not boil).
- Serve warm on crackers.
