It seems like every party I went to over the holidays, they served sausage balls. My sister made some that were amazing and a bit spicy. These aren’t that spicy but you can turn up the heat with a bit of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes if you like. Let me know what you think about this version and y’all enjoy.
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 1/4 cup AP flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- pinch of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon toasted fennel seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- Put all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix well.
- You may have to add 2-3 tablespoons water if to dry.
- Scoop out on cookie sheet in walnut sized portions.
- Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 2-25 minutes…Bake to at least 145°F internal temp.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
