Y’all this was one of my favorite breakfasts growing up. Mom made this in an old fashioned, well it was new then, crockpots. She made it in a coffee can and then put it down in the crockpot surrounded by water. Below is the original recipe. I think y’all are going to like this for breakfast, brunch or a after meal dessert.
Ingredients:
- 8 medium tart apples
- 1 cup sugar
- Dash of cinnamon
- juice of one lemon
- 3/4 cup melted butter
- 2 cups natural cereal mix
- Core, peel and dice apples and place in slow cooker
- Add remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.
- Cook on High 3 hours or Low 7-9 hours.
