Tonight we ate at Miguel’s, my favorite Mexican restaurant in South Tampa. I was totally surprised when I saw the west side of the building they are in was vacant and a lot of work was being done inside, including no front door any longer to this space. So after being seated, I asked our waitress if they were expanding and she seemed surprised and asked how I knew. They just did a recent remodel by adding outdoor dining, and some redo on the interior. Now I love to eat out side when its nice out, but I still haven’t tried there patio dining. It is basically 3 feet off of Kennedy Blvd and seems somewhat noisy and filled with the car exhaust.
We met one of my favorite people, Jeannette for dinner tonight. She literally gets a little upset with me when I go out to eat and don’t invite her. Glad I remembered to night. The food of course was excellent. I had the tamales. I am not sure why, but lately I have just been craving them. Since I drove tonight, I decided not to have the usual Sangria. Let me tell you, Miguel’s has some of the best home made Sangria I have tasted. And after a glass or two, you can feel the alcohol hitting you. They don’t skimp on that, that’s for sure.
I can’t wait till the expansion is done and see what the make of the new space. I just with they had more parking, especially since they are expanding, its going to get harder and harder to find somewhere to park. Currently the building next door to the east is vacant, so I’ve been parking over there. Maybe they should by the place, tear it down and make a larger parking lot. Just a thought.
