I made the quickest and one of the tastiest chicken dishes tonight. I had some chicken thighs that I needed to use, so I sautéed them, added a home made sauce and WOW. I kind of impressed myself with this one. I honestly can say it took less than 30 minutes to get it on the table. Y’all give it a try and see what you think. Oh, the heat will sneak up on you.
Ingredients:
- 6-8 chicken thighs (I prefer to use Springer Mountain Farms chicken)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/8 cup whiskey (optional, NOT)
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust per your taste)
Sauté your chicken thighs on medium high on first side for about 4 minutes. While they are sautéing, combine all other ingredients in small bowl. Turn chicken thighs and pour the sauce mixture over and reduce heat to medium. Cover and let cook for 4-5 minutes then uncover and cook an additional minute or two to reduce the sauce. Serve with rice and drizzle thickened sauce over both.
