Chef Stone was in the Tampa Bay area today doing a cooking demonstration and signing of his new cook book “Relaxed Cooking with Curtis Stone”.
He is one of those great chefs that can not only teach you how to cook something, but he can talk to you and tell stories better than anyone I’ve heard. Of course, he had the eye of every lady in the place and they were hanging on his every word. Didn’t hurt that he was always making eye contact with each of them and winking or giving a slight grin. He really knows how to draw you in and keep your attention.
He told how he came to move to the U.S.A., primarily due to his cooking show “Take Home Chef” on TLC. If you didn’t see it, he would as he put it, find an attractive lady in the supermarket, ask if he could buy her groceries and then go to her house to cook for her and her family, then surprise her husband when he came home from work. He said his only fear was that his father reminded him of all the guns in The States, and to be careful with surprising the husband.
Well he made a Shrimp stir fry with the help of a lady in the audience that made the place smell heavenly. I wanted to just grab the plate and run, but I did not. He showed just how easy it is to use just about anything in your refrigerator to make a great, quick stir fry.
Oooppsss….Think I got caught taking a few to many pictures…. LOL
He discovered there was a camera above him that was showing on all the monitors what he was doing. He was quite a ham.
