Not only is it an outstanding appetizer, but it’s one your friends will be asking you to make and bring to all your get-togethers. So grab some shrimp and a big pack of bacon and lets get cooking.
Ingredients:
- 24 large shrimp shelled and deveined
- 8 thick strips of bacon
- 2 teaspoons sweet paprika
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon curry powder
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- Toothpicks
Begin by cutting your strips of bacon into thirds.
Now wrap each of your shrimp in a piece of the cut bacon and insert a toothpick to hold it in place.
In a large bowl mix oil, lemon juice and all the spices. Once mixed well, add the shrimp wrapped bacon and toss to coat well. Place in a bowl and put in the refrigerator for about an hour. This will allow the seasoning to penetrate and flavor the shrimp and bacon. (as if the bacon needs flavoring)
You can now either broil them for about 2 minutes on each side, or sauté them in a skillet for the same amount of time each side.
