Vintage Southern Blackberry Cobbler

Y’all this is moms recipe for her Vintage Southern Blackberry Cobbler. It is so good. Fresh from the oven with a big ole scoop of vanilla ice cream and I am in heaven. Let me know what you think about this version and y’all enjoy.

 

Ingredients:

For Crust
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 tablespoon baking soda
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 cup flour
Blackberry’s
2/3 cup sugar (more or less with the sweetness of the berries)
2 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cup boiling water
2 cups blackberry’s

Mix together in a medium bowl the butter, baking soda, sugar water and flour and mix well.
Pour this mixture into the bottom of a prepared 9×13 baking dish.
Now mix in another bowl add the sugar, butter and boiling water and mix till sugar is dissolved.
Add in the blackberries and stir to combine.
Pour over the batter in the baking dish.
Bake uncovered for 30 minutes in a 350°F oven.
